Ten Years Without

I have lived the past ten years of my life without the spirit-filling pleasure of a full-fledged, vibrant and luscious autumn. The past ten years have brought the invigorating, morning-crisp chill to me without its familiar companion...COLOR!!! I thought I would adjust, but as the calendar informed me year after year that autumn was again in season, I was plagued with an unfulfilled longing for nature's hues to prove the season to me.

This year, nature has been more than kind. My eyes no longer ponder the curious lack of leaves unchanged. My heart no longer wishes for something known and loved only in the past. Splashes of color are now somehow infiltrated in the deep breaths of autumnal air that fill my lungs and invigorate me.

Living the past ten years with only subtle changes marking each season's change awakened the realization within me that I do, in fact, have a favorite among the seasons. I am no longer lonely for the season I know as Fall. My unquestioned favorite.

I know what you mean! Seasons . . . so good for the soul. I recognized that after AZ and once we moved here. As much as I loved the constant summer of AZ and am not a fan of being cold, I must admit that I do love seasons.

I was walking Marie to school last week when she said, "its not fall cuz the leaves haven't changed colors." ENJOY!
