The Halloween festivities continued with school parties. Brita was really excited about her cheese and cracker tray we made for her class party and she said it went fast.
Meg dressed up as a fairy for her Halloween parade. Before the big parade, she just had to pose with some of her Pre-K besties.
Brita was obviously a green crayon in her parade,
and Leah was Harry Potter. It appears she had some issues with her glasses. Looks like they're taped up in more than one place. It also appears that Leah doesn't care. One sign of many that she is her father's daughter.
After Brita and Leah's parade, Meg found her darling friend Tess.
And then she just couldn't seem to control her fairy instincts in the parking lot.
At home, Leah crated a costume combo out of her sister's costumes.
Meg helped get the scones ready
for our traditional chili and scones Halloween dinner.
The girls ate quick and then hurried to get ready for the nights big festivities.
Leah's friend Carrie came over to trick-or-treat with her this year. That was a big deal.
Their pumpkins were already starting to wither up, but they looked awesome on our front porch anyway.
The girls came home with their loot and one of them didn't make it far. Halloween is lots of work.
At some point that night Jared made our pumpkin seeds. They're always a good way to balance out all the candy. He finds a different recipe every year and they're always delish.
Now we get to eat candy for a few days straight. I know lots of parents control or limit the candy intake but we don't do that here. We just tell the kids to eat it for every meal until it's gone. No one ever complains about eating a well-balanced meal after a few days of straight sugar. Until then, however, we'll be cycling through bouncing off the walls and crashing. And that, my friends, is what Halloween looks like at the Szymanki's.
