We're leaving for Europe in two days, but that's not what this post refers to. Saturday I took Brita and Leah skiing. You know how it is with kids. You can tell them to get ready for a solid half hour before they start to actually do it. Anyway, when I finally got tired of waiting I announced I was leaving. I went out to get in the car and found not Brita and Leah, but Meg and Buddy settled in with excited looks on their faces. It was not easy shooing them out of the car. They heard "go" and assumed they were invited.
Skiing was a mixed bag this time. We met cousins Alyse and Anne on the slopes, and Brita quickly became frustrated and quit. I tried every motivational trick in the book short of violence, but she dug her heels in and would not get back on the skis. So we left her sitting at the bottom for 2 hours while we skiied on the beginner lift. Leah did great, bombing down the hill with minimal turns. Whenever she wiped out she quickly popped up, declaring "I'm OK".

Jared-
You are such a great dad to take the time to teach your daughters something they might like as they grow older.
Can't wait to see your pictures from Europe. We'll have you out for Raclette and sharing time after your trip.

Did you make it out of Europe before the volcano drama?
