I have worked hard over the past ten years to develop some homemaking skills. Before I was married if conversation ever turned to me and my abilities in the homemaking arena, my brother would always offer up the same line, "Rachelle made toast once." He was usually kind enough to leave out the part where the toast burned.
Maybe since I can cook now I'm supposed to move onto other areas. Like maybe sewing. Except I have no desire to learn how to sew. Rather than being a close friend, my sewing machine is more like a distant acquaintance. I can't even seem to do basic mending. Yet basic mending is a good thing to know how to do when there are five people living under one roof.
That must explain why I hyperventilated when the netting broke away from the felt trim on Leah's new favorite dress.
She was sobbing because she couldn't wear it to church last Sunday and how would she do pretty twirls without her dress?! I was sobbing because I didn't know how on earth I'd be able to fix it.
Ladies and gentlemen, a solution miraculously presented itself and this is how it's done...
Heat-n-Bond iron-on adhesive. No sewing required! Leah is a happy girl again and I am one relieved mother.

I need to get me some of that!
you are so good. I normally would get rid of the dress. You just open a whole new world AGAIN!
Nice! I need to have some of that stuff on hand STAT! See, being a good homemaker depends solely upon the creative genius of others.
