The house is on the market as of this week. We met with the realtor, Cherri Hill and listed it. It feels nice to have cleared out all the junk piles and hauled off excess furniture to storage. Why can't we live like this all the time? We're promising ourselves right now to put a higher value on free space in our next house and not cram it so full of stuff. You can check out the listing at the following if you're curious:
Megan thinks socks make a great fashion statement when worn as a scarf. After I took my sweaty socks off the other night she grabbed one, wrapped it around her neck and set off to show everyone her new look. She also pulls the girls' underwear out of the dryer and wears it on her head. Not only will Meg refuse to walk, but she doesn't talk either. We're trying to get her to say "up", but her sign language of raising her hands and waving them works much better for her when she wants someone to pick her up.

Mornings are always a little rough here, but Friday was particularly contentious. Brita and Leah chose to fight with each other instead of eat breakfast. Since I had warned them several times I didn't feel bad at all about taking them to school crying and hungry. Fortunately for them, Brita's teacher, Mrs. Pirtle, noticed the sad face and took Brita to the teacher's lounge for breakfast burritos. She even pulled Leah out of her class and treated her too. We appreciate caring teachers, and hope that the lesson was learned anyway.
I took the girls hiking at Chalk Ridge Falls and we explored a side canyon that we had never been in before. We found a great cave that we want to come back to with flashlights. We enjoyed the traditional slurpees on the way home.
Watching the national budget debate is discouraging. Obama says he's giving most people a tax break, but then sneaks this "cap and trade" tax hike through that will hit everybody hard as if it weren't a tax at all. I feel like as a nation we've hit tough times and decided to sell our birthright of freedom for a mess of pottage (thanks to my brother Eric for that analogy). Let's just soak the rich and provide for all! The Obamunist tax and spend plan isn't so much about raising revenue as it is redistribution of wealth and federal takeovers of energy and health care. I'm so disgusted I am beginning to understand why my grandfather used to spit venom whenever the name of FDR was brought up.

Your house looks great! I like the shutters and door color. What is the listing? Because, yes, I'm curious!
I love the picture and the additional find/comment. I didn't notice it until I clicked on the pic. She is cute though and might help the sale! Exciting time for change!
