Cross it Off

Each of us has made our "Stuff I Want To Do Before Leaving Texas" list, and this weekend we crossed off a biggie that had made its way onto both girls' lists.

We finally looked at a calendar and realized we don't have much free time available to fit in the many wishes, so we got busy and planned one final excursion to Sea World San Antonio. I was way too cranky and before even getting out of the car I had made a much bigger deal out of a request to eat some Wheat Thins than was necessary. Luckily, the family called me out on it, we got over it and had a good day regardless. (It's embarrassing when even the kids notice that mom's being childish).

We did the big things first--we sat in the Shamu splash zone then moved onto the Rio Loco since everyone was already wet anyway. Only after the waterfall on the Rio, they were drenched. Brita's feet squished in her shoes the rest of the day.

We did our favorite things...watched the acrobat & dolphin show "Viva", played on the big ship and playground, went on the log ride, and said farewell to the dolphins as we fed them their last meal of the day.

Then we finally changed Meg's diaper. We should have changed her socks too.

(Shouldn't the dirt marks be on the other side of the socks...as in the bottom...because that's the side you walk on??? Somebody's got to stop being so stubborn and WALK already!)

It feels very satisfying to cross Sea World off the list. We're looking forward to making some more progress on those lists now. As we set out on our next excursion however, I'm leaving the Wheat Thins at home.

We have a bunch of socks that look like that too. It's how I know I need to mop the floor.
The "last times" are bittersweet, aren't they?
