This is a question President Monson asks in the First Presidency Message of this month's Ensign and when I answered that question for myself I realized I have wasted too many "todays". The article says, "If we live only for tomorrow, we'll eventually have a lot of empty yesterdays."
A little bit of planning/daily goal setting helps me accomplish more. Without it I tend to flit from one thing to another too easily without having much to show for it at the end of the day.
So today I will make sure I....
*read my scriptures
*play a game with the girls
*get the girls closets organized with their school clothes
*send a thank you note (this one's several months overdue already)
There. I feel better already. Not that this is an overly ambitious list or anything, but I'm sure the rest of my day will easily fill in. A bit of accountability is good for me. Now off to work on the list!

Hey, I love your list. Don't you just love going to bed at night having accomplished just ONE OR TWO things on "the list?" If I try to do too much, I just get discouraged. Thanks for the inspiration to keep it real, keep it simple. Makes me think of Elder Ballard's talk in conference about loving the time we have with our kids while they're young...
Mindfulness is a fabulous concept. I can't say enough about how powerful it is with dealing with anxiety and depression, too. I LOVE it and my clients credit it with one of themost useful skills they learn. Google it--there are tons of wonderful resoruces out there. It doesn't come naturally for Western World people who have been raised to value multi-tasking, but it works amazingly well.
