Fudge Fight

It’s been a party this weekend celebrating the end of summer vacation. Rachelle had all the kids’ friends over Friday for lunch and ripping the house apart. Saturday I took them swimming and Brita did some nice looking dives, and even learned to surface dive and pick stuff off the bottom. Leah tried diving but hers all turned into forward flips or summersaults into the water.

After swimming we went to Dairy Queen for ice cream. I let them choose whatever they wanted. Big mistake. Brita ordered a banana split. By the time Leah and I got our treats, she had already eaten the fudge part. Meanwhile, Leah’s ice cream was covered with fudge and brownies, so Brita conned her into trading. After a few bites Leah wanted her fudge brownie back. That started a war right there in DQ. Brita said “Leah always ruins everything, because hers was better than mine.” I don’t really follow that logic, but the moral of the story is this: just buy them both a soft serve cone, and everyone would have been happier. And I’d be about $5 richer.

Leah came in from playing outside and claimed “I’m better at swinging than Brita.” It’s true, she swings higher and longer than Brita would ever dare. It’s also true that she knows how to push Brita’s buttons.

Rachelle has been staying up late every night taking a Photoshop class online. She’s getting into digital scapbooking now.

Megan has been busy doing age-appropriate activities. She sat up this week all by herself, and she loves eating crackers. She’s driving Rachelle nuts because she’s happy until Mom leaves the room, and then she screams her head off.

I’m starting to get into panic mode for boards study. I only have 2 weeks left. I’m not as scared of this test as I was for last year’s boards. This only covers 1 year worth of stuff, as opposed to 4 so it’s not nearly as intimidating. But I’m trying to take it seriously and study anyway.
