Jared looks a little crazed and zoned out in this photo, but I assure you he was having a great time. He appreciates anytime that someone will play a game with him.
We had a bunch of Jared's family over for the afternoon of the fourth and while the adults were visiting, the kids made their own fun.
When the abs were all worn out, the root beer floats were gone, and the novelty of dragging the littles in the swimming pool wore off, the races were on...just a friendly little competition as you can see by the looks on their faces.
Somehow, even the little kids knew that this racing stuff was some serious business.
We even mixed in a few adults just for the sport of it all.
It was one of my favorite afternoons ever. Loved spending the day with these people we love so much.
I thought about how things have changed so much since Jared and I were married thirteen years ago. I thought his people were great and I knew I was marrying into a good family, but somehow over the course of thirteen years and lots of time and experiences together, his people have become my people and I love them all. How grateful I am for family.
