Quick Delivery

The green-eyed monster's hooks have had a tight grasp on me ever since my friend, Jody H-L, announced beautiful baby #5 a few months ago. I had already been toying with the idea of a baby of my own when she made her announcement, but I so don't enjoy being a copy cat. I didn't want her to think I had to have a baby just because she had one, but my desire increased every single day. I've never been one to be particularly baby hungry, but when you know, you just know. It's simple, really.

I mentioned it to Jared, and with he and I on the same page, all we had to do was work out some of the details. A big detail for me was to figure out where to put 'er (oops...did I say "'er?" It's true, baby's got some curves). All of our upstairs bedrooms are taken and full, so we decided on this little corner of the house...

With that important decision out of the way, we could move forward. We both agreed a baby would be a positive addition to our family, our girls would love it, and we wanted something to happen as soon as possible (because unlike most people my age, I'm not getting any younger). I really wanted a baby by my birthday...like for a birthday present. Jared liked that idea, too. Sooooo......we decided not to waste any time because, after all, sometimes these things take longer than expected.

It can take so, so long to get to the delivery stage, but this time we were in a hurry and the timing would have to be just right in order to meet our April deadline. So we decided to go on a date to the baby store where the experts asked us questions, we gave them answers, and they tried to find a match for us. I couldn't believe how quickly it all came together. Truly amazing. She was delivered the next day.

We set 'er up in that there corner about an hour before the girls came home from school. They walked in and looked like this...

(I'm fully aware that last month's birthday sign is still up - we celebrate long and hard in our family.
And in case you're wondering, Leah's loud shirt that is hidden underneath her coat does not match her loud pants.)

The girls were genuinely surprised, excited, and thrilled. Who wouldn't be?! After all, WE HAVE A NEW BABY!!!! And it was my quickest delivery yet.

Oh, how we LOVE her.

Even though the baby was supposed to be my birthday present, Meg was first to tickle the beautiful ivories. But who cares? As far as I'm concerned, babies are for sharing.

Now I just need to figure out a convenient way for Jody and me to get our twin babies together for a "play" date.

WHAT A BEAUTY SHE IS! I hope her cries are music to your ears! :)

Rachelle! I CAN NOT WAIT to come over and play with you! This is one play date I won't be late for! Can't wait to hear the details of the purchase. You have waited a long time for this and DESERVE a median for your musical talents.

Congrats on the new Szymanski addition! I couldn't be more happy for you! XOXOXOXOJODY

It's beautiful! She's a wonderful addition. And I think it's funny that she's another she. Jared is woefully outnumbered. The estrogen in that house is high!

hee hee, that was so funny! I remember when you took me to your parent's house and played some killer piano piece there. It must sound amazing on that baby!

Seriously, I first thought you were going to adopt a baby from Haiti!!
