Everyone was too busy enjoying the deliciousness that they couldn't take the time to stop eating and smile. And we missed Brita for dinner. Friends are a little bit more of a priority to her at this stage in her life. She popped in around midnight and the scones were all gone by then.
While I was preparing dinner, Jared and Leah got to work on the pumpkin seeds that had finally dried out. We had two trays of seeds due to the outrageously large pumpkins this year.
Roasting the pumpkin seeds is Jared's Halloween baby and this year he had a helper. Leah found a couple recipes online that she wanted to try.
Those puppies were goooood. They turned out to be a great snack for me since I chose to lay off the candy this year.
Each of the girls went trick-or-treating with friends this year. That was different for us. We kind of liked it. Jared and I had some good conversations in between door bell rings. But I snapped photos of the girls before they ran out and I thought they each looked adorable. Brita was a pumpkin (self-explanatory), Leah was Elphaba from "Wicked" (I'm surprised by how many people are unfamiliar with her character), and Meg was the popular Elsa from Disney's "Frozen" that came out last year around Christmastime.
Meg ran into a few fellow-Elsa's at her school parade. I love this photo so much! (Meg is on the second row, third from the left...sporting some leg).
And with that, I bid a farewell to my least favorite (but getting better) holiday, Halloween.
