It's fun to get a glimpse into the mind of a 6-year-old. We recently hosted our friends from Texas, Joe and Heidi Heidenreich. They came for BYU education week and stayed at our house. Most days they got up after the kids went to school, spent the entire day at education week activities, then came back to our house late at night after visiting other friends and relatives in the evening. Poor little Meg had heard tell about these visitors, and had seen signs of them for several days but had never met them. She was so excited when we told her they were going to dinner with us. She said "I can't believe I'm going to finally meet some of our ancestors". Maybe she considered Texas her ancestral home, the place of her birth even though she doesn't remember it.

We enjoyed hosting the Heidenreichs and hope they will stay with us again so we can renew fun traditions that we inaugurated, like dinner at Bombay house and ice cream at the Creamery. And we like spending time with our ancestors.
