BYU Game Downpour

So tonight Jared, the two older girls and Sarah had planned to go to the BYU football game. Just as Carrie and Adam pulled into the driveway to drop off Sarah, the floodgates of heaven opened up and beat down with amazing intensity. I don't know that I have ever seen water collect in the streets so quickly. The streets and parking lots all over town were flooded to the point that someone waterskiied through a parking lot while being pulled by a truck. A road in our neighborhood collapsed over the edge of a hill. Businesses and homes were flooded.

Under such circumstances, I couldn't imagine that the game wouldn't get canceled, but Jared, who knows the world of sports much better than I, was not to be deterred. The girls all obediently followed Jared to the car after I rounded up ponchos and rain jackets for all who would wear them (Sarah!!! Crazy teenagers). Jared decided to take the girls to Macey's grocery store for some food while they waited out the start-of-game delay and here the girls figured a nice leisurely swim stroll through the parking lot was in order.

Lucky for these gals, the mom stayed home otherwise this photo opportunity never would have happened. I can't imagine anything more dreadful that wet shoes and feet throughout a football game. Strangely enough, none of the girls complained and surely they will only have fun memories of this day. This is why dad's are so crucial to a family. Only the dad of this family would allow such nonsense...in fact, I wouldn't be shocked if the whole thing was his idea. Gasp!

The game did eventually start because why would a game get canceled due to a flood of rain, and my crew sat in some decent seats, but my favorite part is the easy to see cousin-love. This one is going to be a memory worth keeping.
