Next Time We Won't Care
We're thrilled that she loves her books, but the captivating Little Bo Peep here decided to get up and read in the middle of the night last night. Who knows how long she had actually been awake, but at 3:30am as I was turning over in my bed, I noticed some light coming through her door down the hall. So I did what any reasonable, loving woman would do. I woke up my adoring husband and suggested that he go take care of the matter.
From the comfort of my bed I watched as my lover and protector opened her door, announced that it was time to sleep, and turned off the light. Three minutes later the whole scenario repeated itself.
Within about thirty seconds of the second episode she came out of her room crying and wanted to cuddle with me. For an hour and a half, I tried to catch some zzzz's while she repeatedly pressed her cheek on top of mine, turned sideways in my bed and rested her legs on top of my stomach. Finally she announced that she was returning to her big girl bed and off she went.
Jared and I both had unsettling, bizarre dreams after that and both of us woke up feeling very unrested this morning. Next time we're just going to let her read, no matter what time of day it is.

Those nights are frustrating! Brooke used to do that, too. The crib tent and child-proof door locks help me sleep at night.
Rachelle-
This post describes most of my nights since 4 1/2 year old Austin was born. Except that he learned to climb out of his crib at 18 months and would wander around the house or flop around in our bed for most of the night. Now it is hit and miss. Hope you weren't grouchy today!:)
too funny! i swear, after 45months of pregnancy, 30 months of sleepless nights of nursing.....equaling 75 months of bad nights....i don't feel bad about nudging anthony anymore in the middle of the night or even in the early mornings. infact, i'm quite comfortable with it. and gratefully, he knows the drill and is comfortable with it too....i think.
