Our Beloved University

Come little child. Let me lead you.
Follow me on this path that will bring you much happiness.

You will one day follow your sisters on this journey.
Practice now so you will be ready later.

In this place you will learn and grow. Your experiences here will shape you into things you never even knew you could be.

This is a place where even the ragamuffin family
can find acceptance and success.

Run girls. Run.

Keep going. Don't give up. Keep your eyes on that prize.

Run toward your dreams. Yes. Yes. These dreams belong to you.
This is your dream.
Certainly it's not mine.
Or his.

That door is there for you to open...even if you do still have a binky.
Light and knowledge are waiting inside.

Reach high. Work hard. Enter.

You can be a back-row sitter like your mom.

Or a front-row sitter like your dad.
(Or still a back-row sitter like your mom--that's my girl!)

We don't care where you sit. Just enter the beloved university.

Of course, the decision is yours. No pressure.

No pressure whatsoever.

And Brita, I know you were totally joking when you said I embarrassed you at the parade today by whooping and hollering at the BYU float. It's in your blood just like it's in mine. I just know it.

And your dad and I so don't care what kind of post-high school education you pursue or where you pursue it...

...just as long as your decision includes the letters B.Y.U.

We completely manipulate our children concerning educaiton. BYU all the way, or Seth is allowed to play football for UCLA if he considers anywhere other than BYU. I'm going to start conditioning my boys that girls named Leah or Brita are the names of the girls they will meet at BYU and marry.

Oh yeah, you got it right! Except for the part that encourages them to sit in the back. Do NOT do that...I bombed organic chemistry cuz if it. Sit in the front where you do NOT have to use binoculars to see the board. Love those pictures. So funny.
