Maybe these things won't be my reality today, but how blessed I am that memories can take me back. The pictures speak for themselves. Here we are in the southern part of Portugal called the Algarve...the city is Lagos where my sister-in-law grew up. It is a place we love and we love that Isabel shared her home town with us.

Catching the Waves
I'm trying to get our trip recorded and today, after being whined and yelled at a few too many times, I'm longing for the peace of the powerful ocean. I'd love to feel the weight of my feet sink into the wet sand as I comb a stretch of beach for the perfect seashells again. I'd love to feel the rush of a cold wave break against my ankles and splash droplets onto my face. I'd love to be alone with my own silent thoughts for a few minutes as squealing girls run from waves that chase them to the shore.

I really do worry that I will lose my best memories!! This place looks amazing. What a great vacation, and once again, can I say how lucky you are to have family in Europe? You get to see the untouristy, real parts.
Please take me with you...NOW!
The Algarve is one part of Portugal that I haven't gotten to yet, but it's one of the more famous ones because of those beaches. Beautiful pictures!
