Sold and Easter

We sold the house. It's a relief to have that over with. Now we can go back to living like slobs. It exhausted me to watch Rachelle in a constant cleaning frenzy. Now I don't have to worry about getting yelled at for leaving my shoes out. The price of an immaculate house is constant tension. It's clean, but it doesn't feel very homey. We got close to our asking price but we had to throw in the fridge and washer-dryer. Let's just hope the inspection doesn't turn up any expensive repairs.

Easter was nice as we read parts from the Bible every night starting Palm Sunday. There was an Easter egg hunt at church. We decided that Megan is only fun at home, when she's sleeping. She wandered around the picnic lunch at church (with food stuck to her butt) stealing food and sitting on people's plates.

Brita completed a "media free" week in which she didn't do any computer, TV or music. I liked it because there was less competition for computer and TV time. I don't think it was much of a challenge for Brita because she likes to read about as much as anything. She also claims that she's teething, since her canines are coming in.

Leah is Meg's self-appointed bodyguard. She likes to haul her around even though she's not much bigger. She will go rescue her from running into the street and exclaim something motherly like "I can't believe this kid".

They say the best kind of writing is when you can hear the author's voice. I can totally hear Jared's voice in his updates. I love these!

Congratulations on selling your home (almost asking price, in this economy?) Drop to your knees and say a quick prayer of thanks now!!!

RACHELLE, I absolutely adore your new haircut. seriously. You may have just motivated me to go shoulder length bob cut. It's a beautiful cut on you.

Yay! I'm so glad you sold your home! What a relief! We weren't able to sell our New Orleans home for 2 years. It was a royal pain in our behinds! So I'm happy you don't have to carry a house around as extra baggage!
