School is in Session

Our girls love school. In fact, school is so popular with them that school is in session even at home now. Of course there was a good deal of organizing and set up that had to take place before school could actually begin. It went something like this:

1. Dress cow in witch hat & dress. Place purple pipe cleaner on her head and blue bracelet on her wrist. Place cow in baby's crib to free up the space atop flimsy plastic drawers.

2. Find an appropriate item of furniture to function as teacher's chair (because a regular chair would be a silly choice...crazy mom...gee).

Ahhh, the flimsy plastic drawers are an obvious solution.

3. Set up a habitat because every educational setting needs a pet. In our case, we get a pet monster. And the habitat has two tornado shelters in which the pet monster can take refuge. Unfortunately, there's no sufficient tornado shelter for the humans! The best place for a habitat would be the closet. Who needs a place to organize their shoes anyway, especially when shoes can just be thrown in and pushed to the back?

4. Dress students in appropriate attire. A partial witch costume (cow is wearing the other part) with a tiny little backpack (to hold items such as rocks and acorns from the playground) is perfect.

Now school can begin. And this one has actually been in session off and on since Friday and still going strong. I'm so not used to that. Usually enthusiasm is high during the set up, actual play lasts about five seconds, and clean up is painful for the whole family. So this time I'm rejoicing in their creativity.

Ending on one last little photo, just because I love the way she lunges forward. And she's cute.

Such cute girls! I love that kind of creative play!! Hogwarts is big around here. And superhero games. And sometimes combinations of several like that.
