Rachelle and the sisters-in-law hatched a plan to get all of us Szymanskis together at a cabin somewhere for a few days, and Rachelle headed up the project this year. So we rented a big cabin at Bear Lake, printed an "LH Szymanski Family Reunion Banner" and let the fun begin. It had less drama between cousins than I expected, and that combined with my superhuman ability to ignore crying children made it a pleasant weekend. There were 14 adults and 19(?) kids between 1 and 11, not including Devin and family who made it for one day.
Highlights included:
- Miss Szymanski pageant
- Waverunners at the beach
- Poster presentations from each family
- Recording Lon and Mozelle telling stories about childhood and courtship
- Climbing in the ice caves
- Lots of games every night
The question is where to do it next time? Bear Lake seems to be the ideal place, since it's less than a 3 hour drive for everyone except Chad. Island Park would be fun but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra 4 hours of driving. Heber/Midway/Park City could be another option.

Okay, I need more pictures. And the pageant idea...BRILLIANT! You have a great wife to do this for you and your people, Jared!
