We don't have a dog, just Megan

Now that Megan crawls, it’s kind of like having a dog at dinnertime. Since we have a glass table, we can watch her scooting around under our feet in search of crumbs to eat. Brita and Leah drop crumbs on the floor on purpose now. Another thing that Meg loves to do is tear up magazines. A couple of magazines can keep her entertained for an hour.

Brita had a substitute last week who she hated. The sub wouldn’t let her do art, but made her read instead when she finished her work. It must have been a rough week.

We started a carpool with one of Brita’s friends this week. Leah was mostly excited to see what the inside of their car looked like.

Rachelle went to a concert put on by Julie Atwood in our ward. She’s an opera-style singer who is finishing her degree in vocal performance. Props to me for giving up my basketball night so Rachelle could attend.

I just watched the second presidential debate. It was better than the vice-presidents, where I thought Biden came off better because he smoothly and convincingly spouted endless inaccuracies and half-truths while Palin just dodged questions and changed the subject. Let’s have the election already. These guys spout the same tired arguments they’ve used for months. The only thing that changed tonight is that McCain contradicted himself by calling for reduced spending and a massive new program to restructure people’s mortgages at the same time. It’s sad that you have to promise government goodies to get elected, but apparently McCain has finally realized that.

Yeah, the debate was kind of dull, wasn't it? The VP debates were not as exciting as I'd anticipated, because Palin fared far better than she did with Katie Couric. Not that that was difficult. Of all FOUR of them, Biden has done the best. And was it me or did Brokaw (and I like him) seem extraordinarily annoyed?

Brokaw was actually the comic relief for me. After all, he was just the "hired help."

Jared, you crack me up! I'm with you, and totally ready for this election to be over with. Especially the one for OR Senator. I'm soooooooooooooooooo tired of the commercials. I can't even vote in that race but that's all that is ever on t.v. anymore. Let's move on, already!

The only reason Biden was good is because he was such an effective bullcrap artist. I know all politicians do it, but Biden takes it to a whole new level.

Palin's debating was dismal, but she's still the most likeable of the four.
