In case you were wondering how Brita unloads the dishwasher these days...
It may not be the quickest way to get the job done, but she's enjoying herself and I love a good multi-tasker.
"In the highest civilization, the book is still the highest delight. He who has once known its satisfactions is provided with a resource against calamity." (Ralph Waldo Emerson)
I get this quote because I have an inkling of the blessing books have been in Brita's life. I am so grateful for the way books have helped pull this beautiful daughter of mine through some rough times, for the way books have opened up her world and satisfied her curious and thirsty mind.
When Brita was in third or fourth grade and the impact of books on her life was already becoming evident, my dad once told me, "because she loves books, she will always have a friend" and he teared up when he said it. He knows, because his nose is always in a book too.
I love my bookworms.
