Birthdays

Today is Jared and Leah's birthday. I remember when Leah was born, Jared said, "Well, no more birthdays for me." He's kind of been right - the focus has been on Leah more than him, but he doesn't make a big deal out of it and I don't think he's bothered.

But today after swimming, the girls and I wanted to make at least part of the day about him so we took a cake to his work so he could share it with everyone there. The girls love to visit Jared at work and they were giddy about delivering a birthday cake to him. I love seeing my best guy with our sweet girls.

And I love that Jared and Leah share a birthday. If I were to single out the "father's daughter" in our bunch, it would definitely be Leah. They have similar easy going personalities, they share a taste for adventure and they both delight in the outdoors and good food. I love these two and it is totally appropriate that they share their special day with each other.
