Family Home Evening

We just never know how any given FHE is going to turn out. Sometimes the kids are agreeable, sometimes they're not. Sometimes they stay with the subject, most times they don't. Jared and I never know what's really sinking in and what's being ignored, but we know that sometimes the girls will say and do things that could possibly be a byproduct of consistent FHE's. And even though they act like they can't stand to sit through yet another boring evening with the family each week, they weep and wail on those rare occasions when something gets in the way and FHE gets canceled.

I would say that tonight's FHE was actually one of our better nights. This was the scene during tonight's treat phase:

But even on a good night, we can't expect the girls (or myself if I'm being honest) to be 100% with us. Tonight Brita was distracted by grandpa's messy hair and I got the giggles when she tooted big time. Then Leah made me laugh when she said that Jesus was perfect most likely because he was probably an only child and he didn't have any siblings to contend with. The little one topped it all off with her sincere response to my question, "What do you know about Jesus?" Her answer? "He doesn't want anyone to touch our private parts."

Try to imagine her older sibling's response to that one. Just try. Chances are, you're not even close.
