New Year's Eve Party

Since I was on call for New Year's holiday, we thought it would be fun to host a party at our house. Rachelle made stuffed mushrooms, hot wings that were as good as any I've ever had, and veggie quesedillas with guacamole. So the food was great. Then the guests arrived.

We had most of my siblings and their families. Things were going fine until 11-year old Alyse turned a ghastly shade of gray and started throwing up. Then her little brother Alex followed suit, only his emesis missed the bowl and got all over the furniture.

The real fun started when Amy showed up without her boyfriend. That was a little awkward, and the elephant in the room finally left when she started crying. The rest of the night involved lots of loud advice from everyone on her love life. My family loves to give advice, and we're always loud.

The kids had a blast playing wii games in the basement and the rest of us enjoyed the previously mentioned activities plus some fun board games. Most people left before midnight, which was fine. It was a fun party and we're glad everyone came to make ringing in 2011 memorable.

Are you sure it wasn't just Rachelle's stuffed mushrooms? just kidding. My own kids' vomit is bad enough...but that of other kids on my belongings is tough to bear.

So did Amy's loser boyfriend break up with her or what? You can't leave us hanging like that...

Her boyfriend basically broke the news to her on New Year's Eve. This was after spending Christmas in California with his family. She was really into him, and he seemed like a nice guy, but she can do better.
